The Bulldogs, seeded No. 2 in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament, defeated Drury University, seeded seventh, by a score of 74-56 on Friday afternoon at Kates Gymnasium.
So much for any first game nerves for the Bulldogs in the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs came out strong with their shooting and played with the poise of a team that has been there and done it before. Senior guard Kelsey DeNoyelles, senior guard Tricia Principe and sophomore guard Sarah DeShone each scored 17 points to lead the Bulldogs past the Panthers and into a semifinals round contest against No. 3 seed Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday at 5 p.m.
That great balance has proved to be a benefit to the Bulldogs throughout the season and that has once again been the case for Ferris.
It was a great win for the Bulldogs, but there is more work ahead.
